GPS And Telematics Disclosure
This disclosure explains VettyDrive's GPS and telematics posture for operators and renters.
Purpose
GPS and telematics features help operators understand active-trip location, odometer context, ignition status, device status, late-return risk, roadside support needs, and recovery context.
These features are intended to support visibility and review, not automatic punishment or hidden monitoring.
Renter Disclosure
When a vehicle uses GPS or telematics during a rental, the operator should disclose that use before the renter acknowledges trip terms or receives the vehicle.
The disclosure should explain the tracking window, purpose, and how location/device signals may be used.
Review-Only Signals
GPS events may create review signals for mileage, late return, geofence, device unplugged, roadside, or recovery scenarios.
A GPS signal alone should not automatically create a charge, assign fault, or decide a dispute.
Data Handling
GPS data should be limited to rental operations and support workflows.
Product analytics should avoid exact coordinates and raw device payloads.
Scenario Runner And Live Devices
Some operators may use GPS features before connecting a live device, depending on product availability.
Hardware, activation, replacement, and monthly device service details will be published before GPS hardware is sold or activated through VettyDrive.
